Boulderscape Services
2 miles of roadway in New Brunswick, NJ were designed with large cast in place wall systems to shore up the 50’ plus high cliffs along the new highway. The pricing was astronomical and the duration of installation just didn’t fit the schedule. Boulderscape was brought in to assess the design and come up with a shotcrete installation method that would be more economical and would install faster then the current design. The new plan was presented to the Manhattan based design team and was accepted. Boulderscape installed numerous structural shotcrete walls over 2 miles of highway, then installed a fractured rock finish over the walls to blend with the existing geology in the area. The 63,000 square feet of wall system received a medium earth blend stain.
