Widening of Fay Ave, in La Jolly, CA was needed to add parking on the North side of the street. A multi-tiered wall needed to be build to shore up the steepened slope. The wall needed to blend in with the existing surrounding. Block and other wall finishes just didn’t look natural enough for the area. Boulderscape’s Eroded Shale finish fit the ticket. The soil nail wall system consisted of two tiers and totaled 7,380 square feet of wall facing. The applied shotcrete was cut with water tools and textured with custom texturing mats and trowels. The finished work was stained with salt-based stain that reacted with the free-limes in the concrete and integrally stained the wall creating a life-long color scheme.
