The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium selected Boulderscape to create a series of immersive animal habitats throughout the facility, including themed environments, retaining walls, trees, railings, water features, and custom rockwork. Each exhibit was carefully designed to recreate the appearance and character of the ecosystems represented within the aquarium, providing visitors with an engaging and realistic experience.
To achieve this vision, Boulderscape developed 15 unique architectural finishes paired with 8 custom color palettes. Every surface was individually hand sculpted and colored to reflect the geology, textures, and environmental features associated with each habitat, creating seamless transitions throughout the exhibits.
The project encompassed 18,833 square feet of themed construction consisting of structural shotcrete sections averaging 17" thick with varying architectural relief. The entire scope was completed in just 17 days, delivering durable exhibit environments that combined structural performance with highly detailed architectural craftsmanship.
