When shotcrete becomes part of the game. At Camden Yards in Baltimore — one of the most iconic ballparks in America — Boulderscape delivered a structural shotcrete solution where performance, speed, and fan-facing finish quality all had to work together seamlessly.
To extend the left field outfield, the project required a soil nail shoring wall capable of retaining fill while presenting two distinct finish standards — one structural, one architectural — inside an active Major League stadium with zero room for error.
In just six days, Boulderscape installed 8" and 12" thick structural shotcrete sections, completed all formwork and chamfer details, and applied two finishes to meet both functional and audience-facing needs. The outer face received a sponge float finish, while the side facing fans was completed with a smooth steel trowel finish.
The result: 3,310 square feet of wall, two distinct finishes, 30% in savings, and a clean architectural presentation — all delivered with minimal disruption to stadium operations.
